Above: The Rathaus, East Berlin, East Germany (GDR), June 1980
Anthropologic Ephemera is my name for the documenting of period artifacts, sensiblities, and styles of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s through my family photographs. But this 1980 photo of the East Berlin Rathaus that I took my first night inside the Berlin Wall was just begging for a little bit of editorial license. The onset of night in that gray place was nerve wracking, and I think the shift toward sepia tones upholds the drama that I felt in the moment.
The Rathaus photo has been enhanced in the Photo Editor app available for Chromebook. 4000 dpi files of the images hosted on Dreamwidth (without the watermark) are available by contacting me.
