Above and Below: Courageous Faces 1 & 2, 1960’s

Courage indeed. I know from shared experience that my father probably had my grandmother sitting in front of hot, bright lights for at least 20 minutes to compose this portrait of strength and serenity. The hallmark of her courage was that, unlike me, she wasn’t in tears by the end of it. I doubt that dad prevailed upon this gentleman he encountered during his crop surveys to pose for any length of time. Still, he would have gladly passed an hour with him talking about his crops.
